The Bekaa valley is Lebanon's green oasis, situated in the river valley between the situated between Mount Lebanon to the west and Anti Lebanon mountains to the east. Wine making is a tradition that goes back 6000 years in Lebanon. With an average altitude of 1000 m above sea level, the valley's climate is very suitable to vineyards. Abundant winter rain and lots of sunshine in the summer helps the grapes ripen easily.
Domaine des Tourelles was established over 150 years ago and today possesses some of the finest vineyard sites in the entire valley. A blend made up of 40% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah plus 15% of Cinsault and 5% Carignan - Bordeaux meets the Northern Rhone with a splash of the Southern Rhone. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented separately for 10 days in concrete vats before blending and ageing (in concrete vats once more) for a further 16 months.
Bright and fresh aromas of cherries, cedar wood, rosemary and cloves. A fine savoury palate with flavours of morello cherry and blackberry, some earthy spice and fine tannins.
