Dark and youthful in colour for its age, now showing wonderful bottle age aroma on the nose, and developing some soft mint character. Fine, well evolved tannins, real richness and a long finish.
1987 experienced a long hot summer and the grapes at harvest were very healthy and ripe. Only a handful of producers declared and the decision is now proving to have been well judged by Dirk Niepoort.
