A vintage port made in a way that allows earlier accessibility but still with the quality to age for decades. Lots of dark fruits and chocolate flavours with tannins showing a certain robustness but not at all aggressive. Finely balanced with good acidity and a very good, long and falvoursome finish.
The 99 was Dirk Niepoort's first year of making Secundum and the wine's fine evolution is fully justifying the venture.
