Chateau Pesquie, Cote de Ventoux Quintessence Red

Glorious wine from the slopes of Mont Ventoux - the very large mountain that features frequently in the Tour de France.  Drawing on the cycling analogy a little further, this wine has something of the 'well oiled, clean lined, perfectly poised machine' about it, gliding effortlessly along the palate, leaving a fine trail of black fruits and spices in its wake.  Enough vigour to match against full flavoured dishes but enough elegance to enjoy on its own.
