Jerez meets Havana
Details coming soon on a unique event taking place at the Old Deanery, Ripon on Thursday, Septmber 30th.
Jerez (pronounced Haireth) is home to Sherry, and Havana to Cuban cigars with historical links between Spain and Cuba dating back to 1492. At 'Jerez meets Havana' we will be combining the very best from each of these renowned areas in an evening of Food and Wine pairing together with (an optional) pre and post prandial Havana cigar.
Whilst the cigar appreciation group enjoy their first cigar of the evening in the courtyard, those based inside will be able to immerse themselves in live Flamenco and Spanish Classical guitar music. Aperitif drinks of Fino and Manzanilla sherries will be served together with light tapas.
Prior to the main event of Sherry and Tapas pairings we expect to marvel at the dexterous skills of a Cuban cigar maker on a brief visit to this country from the Partagas Cigar factory in Havana.
The evening closes with Aged Solera brandy and coffee; and a post prandial cigar.
